im working on my mothers 2002 f250 disiel 4x4 it has a 6in lift on it and needs the bushings replaced in the front leaf springs. I was able to find a 1 piece set which has a metal casing then rubber then a inner metal casing that is the width of the leaf spring. now the hard part is installing them can i grease up the leaf spring mounting hole and drive in the new bushing with a hammer or do i need to remove the front leaf springs and take them to have the bushings pressed in. any advice would be helpful i dont want to get them half way in then break the bushings or get them stuck.
