How about an English Mastiff? That's a big dog!

SC- he is absolutely beautiful! is he pretty dopey? My friend has one, and he is big lop, but smart also. Easy to train Im guessing?
I wouldn't say he is dopey. My brother's Female is pretty lazy. My male loves to play with toys and run around the yard. We play chase alot. I think it would just depend on the personality of the particular dog. My brothers female is about 100 lbs and mine at 10 months is over 110 and they grow for 18 months. Very easy to train, very smart dogs and loyal. they both love people and love attention. But they will also mind their own business if you tell them to lay down. I LOVE MINE!

I have a German Shepherd and he sheds a lot but he is a good dog. He is very protective of the house and the yard. I wouldnt worry about these dogs around people because my 2 year old niece loves to play with him and she is not afraid of him at all

We have a dog called a Vizsla. By far the best dogs ever, imo. No shedding or anything, very short haired...

Mastiffs are massive, and great dogs... just drooly... lol.

Vizslas are good looking dogs =) They remind me of a short-haired Britney. Good dog also.

SC, I love playful dogs... the great dane seems like a pretty good match for me, but i know I still have homewrok to do... thanks for all the suggestions ya'll!

out dog has what I would consider short hair though not too short. he is a mix of several things including husky and I think it's cocker spaniel. he is very playful and smart. he barks if people he doesnt know come near the house but he is very sweet otherwise and I trust him more than any other dog I've met. one blue eye and one brown.
