Yeah i havent dealt with home insurance before.. I Love pits though theres no other breed that compares to them IMO.. but if i couldnt have one a staffordshire would be my next choice.. i just didnt know if the insurance company would look at it the same as a pit considering you can dual register a staffordshire as a AKC staffordshire and a UKC APBT at the same time.. you just cant register a UKC pit as a AKC staffordshire witch i find odd but whatever lol

My friend has an akita. It is a good dog. He is kinda hyper though. He is only about a year and half old though. So it may be that he is still a puppy. He is very good with people but now very protective. He just comes up to anyone and jumps on them and starts peeing everywhere. lol.

the hip dsplasia (sp?) is common on large dogs and is a hit and miss area. shepherds shouldnt be consiered to common for it if they are of a purer bread and the family history is good. most larger dogs and medium/large, the 60+ pounders...can suffer from this.

German Shepherds. Shed a lot like most short hair dogs though.

GREAT DANE ALL THE WAY!! - I never wanted a big dog until my brother bought a great dane. His female is now 3 Years old. I had to have one, I have a Male that is 10 months old and by far the BEST dog I have ever had!!! He is an inside dog, first month he was completely house trained and crate trained. I know what your saying blackbetty... Like Kooly said though, they DO shed a lot lol. I remember brushing clumps of hair off of them, and then having to sweep the yard 3 times a day lol.

SC- he is absolutely beautiful! is he pretty dopey? My friend has one, and he is big lop, but smart also. Easy to train Im guessing?
