Dam, I guess I am a lucky man.

My father in law is a ex military, gun collecting postal worker (only 10 years older than me) his wife is cool and hot to boot, my 2 sister in laws are 18 and 20 also hot gun girls, the wife's step father is a gun collector and the coolest person I know and treats me better than my own father, all my sisters (4 of them) married to decent gun guys. The only bad apple is her mom which we haven't seen in 17 years.

The tool backs up like I just showed him some kiddie **** and states, after I asked if he wanted to hold it/check it out, he 'didn't want it to blow up in his hands... guns scare him'.

It didn't even have a mag in it and the bolt was locked open.

As I was telling him that they can't discharge without ammo being inserted he sprinted towards the door and back towards the safety of the women folk.

That my friends is what's wrong with this country.
Oh my gosh. You are exactly right my friend. Ignorance and lack of knowledge of guns is much more dangerous to one and those around them than the gun itself

My girlfriends father always had an interest in firearms but never had anyone to ask and talk shop about with guns. After seeing my Glock he wants to get one for home defense.

Her parents live in what used to be a suburb of Minneapolis but the ********* who get kicked out from the inner city start spreading their cancer to the suburbs. Doesn't help that the local pd doesn't have the budget to staff more then one officer per shift, which fiscally I guess makes sense because it really is a smaller city compared to the surrounding cities, but still, response time and depending on call load it'll take a while to respond to a home invasion.

My girlfriend on the other hand wants me to try to be a K9 eventually so the dog can protect her lol. She's not afraid of guns but her dad told me a story once that he fashioned a bludgeon for her to use to protect herself when she was home with mom when he's working late, and my girlfriend being the jumpy scaredy cat she is she thought her mom was a burglar and almost hit he with it. Needless to say that got taken away from her and the thought about getting a gun for home defense got put on hold for a while LOL.

Lucky for her dad though she's moved out now so he just has to convince the wife to get one now. He wanted to buy my G17 and use the money to get my G19 but the trade I found was too good to pass up.
