Default Trying to buy a house in BC

Dear god this is stressful as heck.

Been looking since last May. Everything is a bidding war. Right now in a bidding war offered 20k over asking, I'M NOT EVEN IN THE RUNNING!

Anyone else hate that BC lowermainland house prices are out of control?!

I knew there had to be something going on with you, your posts lately have been less than helpful and that's not like you at all.

Yeah I know because the oil free fall trucks and houses are dirt cheap from Alberta!

I have a buddy trying to sell his condo in Fort Mac. Trying for a year....no takers yet. Not without a big loss anyway

I am on the other side of the country. Prices here are gone to he11 as well. But I don't think it would be close the BC lower mainland prices. But it all relative.

God luck with your hunting...

Default Trying to buy a house in BC

I live in Vancouver. It is friggin insanely f*cking stupid how expensive houses are here. 5 years ago the wife and I moved into her parents house in surrey. It's fairly big. 10 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms. Has a basement suite which is where we live for $600/month. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and living room, pantry, walk in closets, it's own laundry room. We did a complete reno before moving in. Gutted the whole basement and started from scratch. Cost about 10k. We both make a decent income but can never justify spending 800k+ for a house so we decided to jus live here. It's just her parents in a 10 bedroom house so lots of room!

My friend just bought a house in Cloverdale. It's small, just 3 bedrooms and he spent $890k. He was in the same situation as you. Had to pay 15k above asking.

Holy ****, 890k for a house? My wife and I spent 205 for a 3 bedroom in Nova Scotia and that was a decent deal.

Dear Darren,
Thank you for reaching out to me about your house woes.
Trust in me and you will know that I will take care of you.
I will place you where you need to be when MY timing is right.
Have faith and know that all things work for the good of Myself and you.
Love,
God.
PS. Don't forget to thank Me today, I didn't forget to wake you up.
haha

Good luck with the house hunting mate, patients and perseverance will eventually pay off.
Its crazy to think how much higher the prices are between different areas in Canada even geographically not too far from each other. You could always move to Texas and probably buy twice the house your looking at with just the down payment money you currently have.... and minus the snow.
Cheers
Danny
