Didn't use any jacks between the frame and control arm. Just stuck a pry bar in there and pried down on the top of the strut tower to wedge it in there. Once we knew what we were doing it was easy. The first half of the project is always the longest.

Completely random question I just thought of:

You know how there's the connector for the rear brakes lines on the rear axle and one of the rubber lines goes towards the spare tire carrier? Any idea what that line is for?

It's the rear axle vent. It just goes up and should have a vent cap on it.

OK. It's almost entirely broken off the block it's on. Will that be a problem and/or will it affect the rear brakes at all?

It doesn't affect the brakes at all, the threaded nipple just acts as the junction block hold down bolt. You just don't want to put the axle underwater where the vent is open, which now is right at that spot.
