I can't remember anyone on the forums having a CEL after an EGR delete but they're all tuned too. I turned off my egr electronically with the tuner.

Andy says his is on after his EGR delete so yeah a tuner is going to be your best bet.

My buddy has one that has an egr delete head studs and a bigger turbo and injectors

It's faulty wiring. Mine was the same and I had the wiring harness replaced. There is a tsb for it.
