correct, pull the bed and boom easy quick access, only about 400 bucks for the sending unit and pump around 150 for pump and screen

it doesn't get fuel if I park on an incline with under a half tank...

I've had that happen a few times. Usually it's the hose that connects the pump to the pickup. It turns to mush, I don't think it's actually rubber. At least after all that time in gas it doesn't act like rubber. Yours has that full plastic pump casing around it though.
