Wait, he said he is here for a job for a few weeks and she just asked him to go home with her.

There was a winter storm that shut down our major highway several years back for a short amount of time. After the town basically ran out of food staples, a small study was done. With our transportation lines (all 2 or 3 of them) shutdown, our town of 35k with 100k in the greater area only has a 48 hour supply of food. It is quite often that you can go into the store and find entire shelves empty like that.

I've never understood the mentality of people that never prepare until the event is upon them. I could make it at least 6 months and if my propane doesn't holds out for boiling my well water I could switch to my rocket stove. Even with no electricity I can keep my hot wire fence going with the solar charger, heat the house and cook. May not be living the high-life but I can get by. If you cannot make it one week without buying supplies, heat, water or electricity then you need to reassess.

Agreed. We've been without power for 3 days before because ice took out the power lines. The dairy has a generator to power all that it needs but our house didn't have one so it was kinda cold (no wood stove yet either as it was one of our first winters). Plenty of food and water but it was almost better to be outside working in it than it was to be stuck at home

So apparently my brother found both of our pickups on google maps. This was around September of this year.
