Usually little cuts and scrapes or do you see serious injuries all day long? I've heard those rigs are dangerous...

Not real dangerous if you know what you're doing. I remember listening to my grandfathers story's about being on offshore rigs around the world.

Some rigs can be very dangerous. It all comes down to policy and how management directs the work - top down, if you will. Injuries usually happen when someone is in a hurry/not paying attention, or there is a breakdown in communication.

I usually only see small things (let me find some wood to knock on...). Sniffles. A smashed finger here and there. There are a lot of administrative things that are required and safety is inherent. The company I am contracted to expects safety to be a way of life. I also work for the world's leading provider of safety, so it's kind of mine, too.

I remember my grandfather talking about his time on Antarctica, he was an onsite medic for 1 month every 6 months for 3 years.

Work in a tool and die shop making very precision parts
Edit: sorry for the poor quality picture, but there's not much I can take a picture of in my shop due to security clearances with the government and other companies. Wish I could share more! We do some awesome stuff here that I can't take pictures of but can talk about if that makes much sense! Haha
