Nothing worse than having to change a tire if the "technician" just hammered on the lugnuts with the impact. .. can't get enough leverage with the lug "wrench" that comes in the trucks...

Exactly every F150 I get that came from a dealer has the lug nuts torqued waaaayy beyond 150 ft/lbs.

Almost always at least one that we have to get the breaker bar on. Had to do it for my dad's company truck this last weekend.

@Coach77 That is cool. I use to work out of Memphis back in the 90s. I use to pull freight for MS Carriers. They got bought out by Swift after I left.

@LaBalaDePlata Awesome. How many drilling sights do they set up? Do you travel all over the state of Texas or to other states too?

@jonbar87 Yes. I'm Network Analyst, or might as well say Network Engineer/Administrator. I do routing and switching, configuration, maintenance, etc of network hardware. I also do software configuration management, and security type stuff. I love it.

@BassAckwards Thanks for sharing. Yeah cool. Nothing like seeing sexy cars come thru to get new tires from your store. I'm in love with the tire store near my house. I have so many pictures of sexy, expensive cars that go there. They even have their own car shows too.

@rdkev I would say yes. Because the tire place near my house does tires for Bentleys, Maseratis. Bugatti, and every kind of make, model, and no matter how expensive the vehicle is. Celebrities go there and everything. Tires and rims is a huge business and if you have excellent service and good product, all kinds of people are going to come there.

And like the other guy said dealers don't really care to follow Tire & Rubber Manufacturers Association, or the Wheel and Tire Association Guidelines.

Tires are all we do so it's kinda important that we at least follow some kind of guidelines.

Just gotta take your time with vehicles like that and new guys aren't allowed to even look at that vehicle funny.

I had another Maserati come in a few months ago and he needed a flat repair, turns out his rim was cracked. So I called the nearest dealer to get a price quote for him and it was $2600 for the one rim. My store averages $800k a month I think we can take the hit on that rim if we were to damage of course someone would be in trouble lol.
@BassAckwards Yes I am in agreement with this because I have seen every kind of car and truck at the tire store near my house. Even though the luxury car dealerships are the next exit down from me, and I'm sure they do tires too, people go to Butler Tire which is near my house. They have several locations in Atlanta. Celebrities, ball players and all go there.
