I never understood why people talk about warning shots "let's fire a stray round somewhere". I'm by no means an expert I'm just a regular ole joe but if there is one thing I have learned from classes and the real experts it is don't put your sights or draw down on anything you are not willing to destroy and If the need arises go center mass until the threat stops coming forward.

I don't mean it as a shot in the air, I mean it'll be shot at the person but that was our warning to hit the deck.

Just in case they attempt to put distance in between the 887 and themselves.. Buck goes first followed by a slug.. Never known anyone to take more than one round of shotty.. So with that being said the chances of the slug going down range is slim..

Problem you have in that scenario in a HD situation is that once they're putting distance between you and them, it's going to be extremely difficult to articulate how you remained in danger.

Have you looked at the PDX-1? 1oz Slug with 3x 00Buck pellets:

I've picked up a few boxes of it a while ago and have fired it at standard 'home distances'. Works well for me.

No.. As long as they are still in my home i'm in danger and so is my family.. I wouldn't chase out into the yard to shoot them...

Only way to get away with is if you live in TEXAS and FLORIDA.. They have numerous cases of intruders being chased down and shot.. Wouldn't try that in GA

Nor in Illinois. Once they're retreating you gotta stop shooting
