It absolutely sucks when something happens. I know from experience. I worked on a vw jetta with an audi 1.8T swap and aftermarket turbo. Only thing that was stock on that car was the frame. It got totalled when someone hit me. I don't think I'll ever invest in a vehicle again.

Yeah having something smashed suck but it happens not driving them isn't the solution

It's just that I didn't get back the money I put into it. My car was worth about $9000. I got $3500. I lost a lot of money. I think it's worth it to invest in a classic then you can get it appraised and get replacement cost insurance.
