Default Dealing with vandals and a-hole neighbors

Any tips for dealing with / catching vandals? Someone keeps damaging our mailboxes and the locks to our front gate.

Also, my neighbor is an a-hole. He keeps parking in my wife's parking spot, and he gets all "ghetto" when I try to talk to him about it.

Today has been a bad day so far.

+1 on the cameras; get good ones so the criminals can be identified.

Is this a neighborhood, and how are the parking spots designated for each person? Is there an HOA or is it just "park wherever"?

If there's no mechanism to reserve spaces, then just get a couple of junkers and park them in the neighbor's spaces.

I live in a small condo/co-op. All the spaces are reserved. One of the units is a rental. And lucky for me the tenant is a real piece of work. He just got out of jail (again) yesterday so I guess I caught him in a bad mood.

Camera for sure. You can get some cheap HD cameras online that would record on to an SD card. Or just stay up one night and catch them in the act.

This^^^ I refuse to live near people. Closest "neighbor" is 1/4 mile away and that's almost too close for me! I would not be able to stay out of prison living in OP's situation!

I grew up in the country (rural Washington State). So I know what you guys are talking about. I miss peace and quiet. And not having to worry about other issues like parking. I've been stationed in San Diego for almost 10 years now. I have gotten used to it somewhat. The wife has agreed that we should move away from So-Cal after I retire (in a year). I'm actually pushing for Texas, even though I have never even been there.
