It is not Islam vs Christianity! It is the ignorant and intolerant of Islam against the ignorant and intolerant of Christianity! Those that have a real understanding of the true meaning of the either religion have no part in this prejudicial stupidity! Contrary to the claims of the ignorant, the Koran and the The New Testament do not justify the stupid hate of the Crusades or of today's wars and hate! Christianity, Islam and Judaism have far more in common than they have differences.

So is religion a necessity, or can we have morals, values and ethics without believing in a story of creation that has no actual proof? Each of us has to decide that for himself... and hopefully let others decide for themselves! Wouldn't that be nice example freedom!

In any case it's best not to talk about religion around here.... we can barely handle politics without starting WW III!

The best teacher I have ever had was a teacher by the name of Mrs. Baitey. She taught a lot of things that schools should teach like what credit was and how to save and budget your money. These things are usually things that parents should teach put sadly most don't. The most important thing that she ever taught me though was something I will always be grateful for and never forget, how to vote. I am not talking about WHO to vote for like some teachers and professors do these days which is sadly becoming more of the norm. I can still hear her today "Follow these steps and stay firm with what you believe is right. Let no friend, family member, employer, institution, union, or association disrespect your right and beliefs to pressure you or tell you on who to vote for. Remember, it takes a bigger person to do what they believe is right than to be weak and do what others tell you to do just because it is popular or to gain acceptance. " Her step for voting are as follows.

1. Read and know the Constitution of the United States along with it's amendments and laws.

2. Write down at least 10 beliefs on how you feel this country should be ran as long as they coincides with the laws and constitution while putting the most important one first. One example is " I believe we should have a balanced budget"

3. Forget about the D, R or what ever party affiliation that the candidates are associated with. Also remember, just because you like one candidate does not mean you have to agree with everything he/she does. Again, never go for a D, R , or whatever just because someone told you to or made you feel bad if you didn't.

4. Not only listen to the candidates speech, but also more importantly look at their past policies, voting records, and what their beliefs on how this country should be ran are. Most politicians will tell you what ever you want to hear to get your vote while their action do not coincide with what they told you. (Today is amazingly easy to get this information and the truth for yourself like how someone voted on a certain bill through the library of congress compared to just 20 years ago. Yet sadly most leave it up to certain biased news organizations, "fact check" websites, or other organizations like their union for their information. I have found many people, even the President, quote what the media has said on certain bills to put their spin on it when I have read the bill in it's entirety and what they said does not coincide with whats in the bill. )

5. After gathering all the information, go back to your own list of beliefs and compare them to the candidate's. Choose the one that best aligns with your beliefs. More than likely not all of their beliefs will align with yours so go with the ones that are most important to you.

6. GO VOTE. Even though you voted for or chose someone, do not be afraid to be vocal against them if they do something you do not believe in and likewise if the one you didn't choose did something that you agree with. Remember, be loyal to your beliefs, NOT a candidate, party, or political organization.

Since Mrs. Baitey may not be available, I'm a retired teacher of 31 years who among other subjects taught political science! I have a Life Credential which is in force, so I'm giving you an "A" on your last post!

Thoughts of Donald Trump being president? Think hes got enough stuff to do it. Or enough money smarts to get him through 4 years?

Could he do it? Sure. Could he do it well? IDK. Donald is a risk taker and doesn't mind losing every now and then because he knows it's the name of the game. The problem with that is we don't forget the losers as easy as we do the winners.

On a side note, you keep injecting new and fresh topics into this, which is a good thing, but then you never respond back to them. Join in more, we don't bite. Opiniyawn may pinch a little but Mr. Fx4's tickling more than makes up for it.

I think you see less islamic folks speaking out because of an intimidation factor. Speaking out about some nutball preacher wanting to burn stuff (which is his legal right) is a bit easier than a muslim taking a stand against a radical and dangerous movement within their religion.
