I will take that as your attempt at humor! You sound like the "Left side" of a Tea party meeting! The Tea Party yells "Liberty" without any realistic concept what that actually requires in the real world. You can yell "Freedom"! I'll yell cheese burgers, because I'm in favor of cheese burgers!

As to the House passing a budget and the Senate not doing anything with it, maybe if the House stopped putting poison pill riders in the "budget" that they knew weren't going to pass the Senate there could have been a budget passed. There was no point to the Senate doing anything with the budget, as they weren't going to pass the House budgets without stripping the riders out of them, and there was no point to the Senate doing anything beyond that point, as all appropriations legislation has to originate in the house. The house budgets were purely political gamesmanship of the worst kind.
The president proposes the budget, it is then up to Congress to decide if they will appropriate the funds for it. With a lack of budget proposal from Obama the house passed their own and Harry Reid sat on it.

The senate has their own appropriation committee. Nothing stops any of them from drafting a budget for consideration, it simply has to be finalized by passage through the house first.

Obama did finally submit a budget, it got zero votes in the senate, same gamesmanship both sides.

Having Ryan on the ticket sends a message that it will be budget focused. The administration also sets budget policy, much like other policy that does not require congressional action to implement. As to the point if the original post Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio were both considered tea party aligned candidates. Choosing Ryan over Rubio was not to please the tea party as either candidate would have been acceptable. It was no different than Obama choosing Biden because Obama was seen as weak and inexperienced on foreign policy. Biden solidified that concern as he was chairman of the senate foreign relations committee. What constitutional authority does the veep have over foreign policy? None, but as truck implied, appearances are everything when it comes to politics.

And if the Senate KNOWS that the party zealots in the House won't act on a budget outside of the house's own ideological mess, what's the point to submitting one?

You're making excuses for the inexcusable, and twisting it to make it appear that the Senate is culpable, when it's the Constitutional responsibility of the House.

I always thought that Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde were simply literary creations. Although like Postal, I don't buy the argument, this post is well written and intelligent obviously written by the Dr. Jeckel in you. Then another type of post will be written by Mr. Hyde that I find insulting and off to the races we go! Very confusing! In any case nice post! My response would be the same as Postal's so I'll give my digits a rest!

For the benefit of the thread, if I have a problem with your posts in the future, I will either ignore them which is probably best of all, or PM you! I don't want the thread to suffer critcism or closure because I get irritated!

Again, nice post!

Yes those horrible rich Repubs. I fee l for the mega millionaire John Kerry's who had to buy expensive yahcts overseas to avoid US taxes. the mega millionaire Clintons who turned $10,000 of pork belly options into hundreds of thousands in a matter of weeks, when mysteriuosly no one else in the investment did, and the poor Nancy Pelosi's who were given IPO shares in visa, her poor mega millionaire husband given sweetheart real estate deals by the government. Ahh, I sure hope those 1978 Corrolla's are holding up for them. Those Dem's sure are charitable. Not as charitable of course as the Repub's, as the repubs actually give more to charity. Interesting how the weathiest senators are Dems. It's amazing what you learn when facts get in the way. try some research or go back to the occupy events they have their own libraries I heard.

1
Herb Kohl (D-Wis)
$219,098,029
$234,549,004
2
John Kerry (D-Mass)
$165,741,511
$235,262,100
3
Jay Rockefeller (D-WVa)
$78,150,023
$101,579,003
4
Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif)
$43,341,462
$98,630,021
5
Lincoln D. Chafee (R-RI)
$41,153,105
$64,096,019

1. Herb Kohl - Dem - Wis
2. John Kerry - Dem - MA
3. Jay Rockafeller - Dem - West VA -
4. Diane Feinstein - Dem - CA -
5. Lincoln Chaffee - Rep - RI -

Who's driving those Maybach's now? That's right, those theiving Dem's who are always ripping off the middle class to buy their homes in Martha's Vineyard. Good 'ol grandpa Kerry and his tomamto's.

Default those rich dems

the dems rule the roost in congress also taking 7 out of the top 10 spots. their pro's at breaking the backs of the middle class to get ahead.

Top 10 Wealthiest Members of Congress (by household assets, 2010) according to The Washington Post:
•Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) $448.1M
•Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) $380.4M
•Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) $231.7M
•Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) $143.2M
•Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) $136.2M
•House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) $101.1M
•Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W. VA) $99.1M
•Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) $85.6M
•Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) $73.2M
•Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) $69.0M

Nancy needs a new Buggotti. Quick pass Obamacare with out letting the middleclass read it so she can get their tax money. Liar liar pants on fire. Don't forget the Botox....
