So MA got a net advatage of approx $95,000 by Mitt not taking a salary. Numbers are for example purposes only. I do not know the slary for a MA governor.
Thanks for the explanation !

If your salary is otherwise $0, (you are in the 15% income or below) you pay no capital gains taxes on long term assets.
Those are incorrect rates as he was not Governor during those years. Also, it is not based on salary, but earned income. I am sure he had income from patnerships, pass throughts, certain investment income is counted as ordinary, etc... this is eviedenced in the tax release his accounting firm did,. These tax rates flip flop more than the candidates.

The tax release was an aggregate, not his returns.

Again, as stated by many in the GOP leadership, if he has nothing to hide, do just what his father did and give the returns to the media.

Also, as stated previously, this isn't my major issue with Gov. Romney, it's a sidebar to the conversation. He was a lousy Governor, and him sitting in the Oval office just doesn't sit well with me.

He may be one hell of a corporate exec, but I wouldn't want Donald Trump in the oval office either.

Donald would be great. Just think of the hair baby! He would put his foot in his mouth on a daily basis, but would be entertaining at the same time. I bet he would hold the Miss Universe pageant on the front lawn of the White House.

So what is the final verdict? Did Romney pay taxes while he was governor out not? Did he cheat the system or do a good deed to the people of Massachusetts?

Under the heading of keeping track of those who don't want those running for president using their names, etc. for their campaigns..... however was this one missed in all objectivity and fairness around here:

The mother of fallen Navy Seal Glen Doherty had this to say to Mitt Romney:

"I don't trust Romney. He shouldn't make my son's death part of his political agenda! It's wrong to use these brave young men who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama!"

That's a little tougher than anything "Big Bird" of PBS had to say to Obama, even considering Romney brought Big Bird up in the debates!

The mother of the young soldier who died used the right word when she said Romney is trying to "DEGRADE OBAMA"! Good for her! Criticizing policies is one thing, but using the deaths of service men to attack Obama as Romney did relating to Lybia says more than I ever could about Romney's lack of character! Shameful!
