Default Vapor lock problem/79 f-150

I have a 79 f-150 w/351M, get headers w/header wrap, aluminum edelbrock intake manifold, edelbrock 600 carburator,1in wood laminant spacer(edelbrock). Seem to have vapor lock problem,Used a temprature reader on my gas filter, right before the carb. it read 150 degrees. Using my water temp as a gauge, 150 degrees seems to be the point my truck goes into vapor lock. I even cut holes in my hood to vent hot air, still cant seem to fix problem. Going to check thermistat next. anyone got any ideas.(even tried re-routing my fuel line)

what kind of fan are you running ???
is it direct or on a fan clutch ?
if on a clutch you may need to replace the clutch.

Im running a direct fan.( Its one of those aluminum flex racing fans) got great airflow thru radiator, can even feel the air being sucked thru the front grill.

If in fact it is vapor lock, some place the fuel line is to close to the exhaust and is causing your blockage. You probably created your own problem with the high dollar stuff and need to upgrade the original fuel line as well.

the original metal gas line ran less then 2 inches from my headers, i re-routed that line months ago using new gas line(high heat rubber),went up an over my fender, the only thing is the mach. fuel pump, cant change that, unless i use a electric fuel pump elsewhere, lets just say along my fire wall?

went an checked the temprature on the mach. fuel pump outlet, its reading 160-170 degrees, before my fuel filter, (still reading 150 degrees at the fuel filter)any one know what temp. gas boils at? also, when im driving, it stays cool, only in slow trafic or when im in 4 low does it get hot enough to vapor lock,i wate 20 min. and it starts right back up.I wonder why the mach. fuel pump is geting so hot, and could this be the start of my problem?
