Default truck frame

Hi folks, just a quick question. Is the frame on a 85 f150 2wd the same as a 79 f150 2wd ? I need some headers and the closest thing I could find is 79. the ones I've found look like they would fit ,but pic's can be deceving . thanks for any info.

I would have to assume that there are differences between the 6th Gen and 7th Gen, as the '80 and '81 frames were "Swiss Cheesed" for weight reduction and then went back to a solid frame in '82. It would be safer to compare the 7th Gen to the 8th Gen F Series when frames are concerned. Where are You looking at headers from? I choose not to run headers (not much advantage over cast manifolds unless it's a stroked engine), but have found quite a few listed for My '84 302, both shorties and longtube.

Gotcha, but....with all due respect, it would have been good to know that in your initial post. Apples and Oranges.....

They are different frames. 80 to 96 stayed basically the same.

Once when i put headers on an 80s with 351m and they told if it'd been a 460 it would not had fit. And the guy also implied the 70s truck could fit headers and a big block
