Which Transmission?
I have a 1986 F-150 with the 300 I6 and the 4 speed manual and i would like to know what the transmission is called. I've Googled everything i could and the best i could come up with is that it may be a T-18 or a T-19 but i have no clue. Any information would be helpful.

Is it a granny 1st? Like you get to 5-7mph and have to shift to 2nd? If not then it should be a t18/t19. Off hand i cant remember specifics but one has a pto cover on passenger side only and the other has a cover on both sides.

1st gear I shift at around 15-20 MPH and that's 2,000 RPM's and I shift that early more to save fuel.

So, i checked the passengers side to see if that was there and...
It wasn't there.. So its a T18 then right? so i checked the Drivers side just to make sure and..
Its not there either? So if it doesn't have a granny first, isn't a T18 or a T19 then what is it or am I missing something here? I cant find anything on this.

Ok you got me. Got too many things runnin in my head .
T-18 has a unsyncro 1st gear, meaning if you try to downshift to first while moving it will grind.
T-19 has a synchro 1st.

Rev to?
Just out of curiosity what does your 300 rev to? I have the NP435 tranny with Granny Low 1st. In second it will rev to 3500 no sweat, but it doesnt like to rev past 4K.
Is this normal for this 6?
Thanks
Dave
