1986 F-150 engine trouble
Hello everyone. I recently got an 1986 F-150 for free from my father that ran like new before it was parked. It's a fuel injected 5.0, 4 speed 2WD. It was missing a few components on it so the computer, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve, and the coil are all new. I also changed the vacumme lines, oil, oil filter, coolant, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires and set the timing to factory specs. It starts and accelerates through all gears fine. The problem that I'm having is when I'm going down the road the engine starts bucking and the only way it'll stop is if I give it more gas. I just can't get it to stay at the speed I want it at without getting bounced around and getting whiplash in the cab. I also used 2 different code scanners and didn't get any codes from the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
