Question Performance Chip

I was looking around on ebay for things and I came across a performance module that take less than 15 mins to hook-up with an easy turn of a in cab dial you gain either 5-30 HPs wondering if anyone ever used one of are that just a waist of money?

I think what its doing is tricking the IAT sensor and possibly the coolant sensor into thinking its colder than it is if it even does that. Don't buy it.
