Question Odometer: '83 F-150

Greetings,

I'm on the verge of buying a sweet 1983 F-150 302 V-8 with ~79,000 miles (maybe).

Original everything in "good condition."

What I'd like to know is if the odometer keeps rolling over in these trucks when it reaches 100,000 and if there's any way of guessing how many times it may have, besides the obvious condition & performance????

Thanks for your help.

I would think it keeps rolling over and I don't think there's a way to see how many miles it really has, but I could be wrong.

I would look at wear items such as brake petal, etc. 79,000 miles shouldn't be enough to wear these kinds of things out. 179,000 will show some real wear, and 279,000 will probably let you see some metal along the top or inside edge.
