Post My truck wont start!

Hello,
I recently bought an 86 f150. I am having 2 issues with it.
First, I recently just moved and the truck had been just sitting there for about 3 weeks to a month. When I left it ran just fine but when I tried to start it again after I moved it wouldn't crank over. It seems the battery is dying? I have bought 2 new batteries, new gas line, and put a new alternator in. It will start when we put starter fluid in it but then its like the battery dies. What else could it be? Its trying to start but needs help.
My second issue is the clutch. When I bought the truck the guy told me the clutch wasn't in the best shape and he gave me a new one to put in. He also said to bleed it as a quick fix. I have been told that the real issue is the tranny and not the clutch. The truck wont go over 55 mph, hates overdrive, and it grinds when going in reverse. Any thoughts?
Thank you for reading my post! I am so ready to drive my new truck!

Is it not getting fuel? Have you changed the fuel filter? Does it crank, but not start? Does that have a distributor cap? Anything in there?

if it'still getting power but not turning over it could be a faulty nutral safe switch. if it's turning over but ylu don't hear the fuel pumps turn on check the fuel rest switch, on my 86 f150 it's on the passenger side under the dash.

What engine? Overdrive?

Grinding in reverse very well may be the clutch. If the throwout bearing is worn and/or the master cylinder has air in it, the clutch will not disengage enough to slow the trans before trying reverse.

Lets get is started before we troubleshoot the drivetrain.

If it is carbeurated and it runs off of ether, then the fuel pump is suspected. If it is EFI and the pump is bad you will not hear it run when the key is turned to on.

What is thew voltage at the battery before and during cranking?

Check fuel pressure. Test TPS.
