Intake 351M Qestion.
Well i just took out the intake for my 351m and would like to know my options on a new intake Manifold. Junkyard cast iron or aftermarket aluminum. I would like to keep it original with cast iron. Kinda pricing around. If i get one from a junk yard how much could i expect to pay?
Check out the huge hold in it!

You need to wheel and deal. The junkyard doesn't need to know you want it original. If they want too much, tell them you can just get an aftermarket one. Thats what everyone does anyway. Then those get thrown out. They're practically worthless. There's not many people out there wanting to buy stock manifolds either. It can sit on their shelf or in the yard for years or they can sell it to you for more than what they will get for it in weight. I personally wouldn't pay more than $50 for it but you need to offer low and see if they accept. Don't ask "How much?", say "I will give you this much for it." and go from there. I'd start at $25.

I have a 1980 F250 w/ 351m. I pulled stock intake and 2bbl and replaced both with Edelbrock Performer parts, 4bbl. It made a HUGE difference, really opened up the power. Both parts cost me a total of $500 and an afternoon to put on. While at it, I replaced lifters and checked pushrods. I would recommend the Edelbrock, but if interested I have the original intake in my shed.
