1985 Fuel Harness Wiring help
I'm replacing the bed on my 1985 Stepside (insane, I know). And when I pulled the bed off, I found the cause of my faulty gas gauge. The wiring harness had shattered or corroded and had let the connectors fall away from the tank. I don't know which wire goes where. Does anyone have the schematics for a SINGLE tank (lots of dual tank info on the forum). I've ordered the part from LMC already, but here's a picture of the same from JCWhitney (http://images.jcwstatic.com/jcwhitne...0520G_TH_1.jpg)
Thanks a bunch

Here is a diagram for the single tank:

This drawing does show what wire colors are connected to what but, unfortunately this does not show the wire color relative to the pins on the connector. I will look for that. If you were to pull the sender you could easily trace through and figure it out.
I would pull the sender clean and inspect it. Make sure that the rubber hose that connects between the fuel pump to the metal fuel line parts in the sender is still intact. On one of my tanks that hose was a blob of goo at the bottom of the tank. You can test the pump with a 12V supply etc.

Kevin, you.are.a.rockstar! Thank you! I was hoping you'd come through. I see your posts everywhere here for the 1985s, I only look for 84-87 years as those are in my parts group.

well, I'm trying to find the wiring diagram to the harness and when I try to install the Chilton's manuals on CD, I find out that my computer is 64bit, and the disk can't be read. So, I'm off to the basement to see if that old computer still works. unreal.
Kevin, if you're still looking for me for the wire harness info, I'd still appreciate it. I'll keep looking also. sigh.

lol. check this out. This guy inadvertantly helped me! It looks like in order of closest to farthest or left-to-right from the top: orange, pink, yellow, black.
And here it's confirmed. http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/744424
