Default Heater blower clean out process?

Never torn open a fan/blower system...is it do-able?
Had a leaf get in, burn up, and stink up the cab and seat to hi Heaven.

Can a guy get into the squirrel cage and entry ducts?

I'm thinking of putting 1/2" rat wire over the main intake grill under the windshield!!!!!!

You should be able to pull the blower motor and get at most of it. And the little resistor pack - that'll be what's making the leaves burn.
Had that happen to me once on a 92. Driving along minding my own business and all of a sudden the dash erupted in smoke. Thought she was going down in flames.
Febreeze will help a little.

ALSO, when I first turn the fan on day or night, hot or cold, summer or winter, it moans like its in labor or some sort of mutant ninja fan motor.
Run up to Hi and it stops...then down to Lo and its OK...turn it off, then to Lo and its moaning again...up to Med or Hi and its good.

Forget trying to clean/service it and just buy a replacement?

Im not real familiar with that one but if its like the next gen ones there is a few bolts holding all of that in out in the engine bay. You can pull a few and pull it out i think.
