Default Fule problem

Okay guys I have an 84 f-150 with a 302 was totally stock I added a accel performance coil eddlebrock performance intake and a Holley 4bbl 4160 600cfs I cut my metal fule line and attached a rubber fule line with an inline filter and truck runs great when the filter stays full but randomly the filter emptys and the truck starts starving for gas does anyone have any insite about this?
I don't believe it's by fule pump you can detach the fule line and turn it over and pumps great

Where did you mount the fuel filter? Does the filter go dry when the engine is cold and hot or just when hot? Do you have two tanks? If so is fuel in both tank when this happens or is one empty?

It's single tank the filter is located between the valve cover on drivers side and the intake and once it emptys it stays dry hot or cold
But doesn't have any trouble starting up

Is the filter before or after the fuel pump? Is it a one way filter? Why do you think the pump is not a factor?

connect a pressure gauge to it and make sure it's within the specs of the carb.

is the carb old or new? if it's old, check the floats.

how old is the current fuel pump? they can go bad especially with the new fuels out there

It's a new carb and as far as I can tell original fule pump could this have something to do with the sending unit inside the tank? Maybe bleeding back down?

Mechanical fuel pumps have a check valve to stop the fuel from bleeding back down. If it's the original f/p it seems a shame to put all that money into carburetion up top and leave a 30 year old pump in place to feed it.

sounds like your fuel pump is crapping out I would also get fuel filter off intake just to avoid vapor lock from heat
