Flatbed 4x4 build thread

So I went into work yesterday trying to solve my issues of a legal exhaust. I am taking off my true dual straight pipe and running 2 and 1/4 inch pipe into a Y- section that goes into a 3 inch pipe High flow non-cat then into a thrush welded muffler . Cat is 45 bucks. Muffler is 60 the Y section is 50 and I have yet to price the sections of piping

Got the exhaust and everything hooked up but found out the carb needed rebuilt so it is currently off..
Changed plugs cause the old ones were trashed from having too much gas being dumped into the cylinders.
Got boards for the bed
Came up 1 2x8 short.
Got new shocks to support the bed
Monroe sensa-trac coil overs

Subd. Have you considered outrun boards against the front of the bed to hide those weird bed lines?

Like against the cab? Yea I'll be picking up 3 more 2x8s 1 to finish the platform and 2 that cover the back side of the cab if that's what your meaning the truck is built to take as much abuse with as little maintenance as possible and the reason why I chose boards instead of putting a steel plate was convenience it's easier to replace a broken board then fix a dent in a bedside and it's more cost effective in the long run

My project tip for you is if you get a truck to restore/ build make sure the one you buy was never used as a bogger / trail truck like mine it will save a lot of problems in the build time

Thank you, I'm looking at a '79 f150 stepside 4X4. The owner is still unsure if he wants to sell it. It only has 19k original miles and was bought ran a few years then the owner put it in his garage and it hasn't been out of it since. So I hope its in decent shape
