shifter issues

Question shifter issues

my 1971 f-100 with a tree speed auto the shifter on the colum is getting really wigguly it somtims pops out of gear it is so slopy and you have to wiggle it to get the motor to turn over is this just need adjusted or does it need something else ?

There is a reinforcement spot welded to the shift tube that engages the shift collar that the lever engages. It breaks loose and so goes your story. Need to replace the tube and collar. Hardest part of the job is the 8-10 wires for the t-signal switch. Send me a message for more info if in need.
