Carburetor Help
Yesterday I was lucky enough to come across a Motorcraft double barrel carburator.
Well I own a 1985 with a single barrel mounted to my 4.0 L6...
Basically I want to know what it would take to but the double barrel that I found on it.
Thanks.

Assuming it's a Motorcraft 2150 2 bbl carb but, you have a 4.0L V6 and not a 300 (4.9) I6 ? Or is the truck a Ranger/B-Series truck ?

You have a 300 cu.in. 4.9 liter in-line 6 cylinder (not 4.0L). 300 cu.in. = 4.91612 liters.
Ford rounded it down to 4.9....
By the number D2MF FE , You have a Motorcraft/Autolite 2100 2v (predecessor to the 2150). What size venturi's are in it are anyone's guess. Summit Racing offers a cast aluminum manifold to carb conversion kit for under $30.00. Keep in mind that You will have to modify the kick-down if Your truck is an auto trans and if not modded correctly could burn up the trans in very short period of time. I personally would upgrade the intake manifold also as the current one is designed for the single carb.
It's the funnel theory...you can fill the funnel to the top but it will only allow as much liquid to pass through as the neck can handle ("funnel mouth" is carb..."funnel neck" is intake manifold).
