broken ignition
I just got a new to me 86 f150 4x4 302. This morning when leaving to pick up my kids my ignition broke. I can put the key in and spin it 360. What is the best way to pull it? Thanks in advanced

Google search [Ford ignition switch actuator] tons of info and how to video etc. online.
In the meantime if you remove the plastic cover over the column you can find the actuator rod on top of the column. You can work the rod with your hand or with some vise-grips and start the engine and drive. I drove my truck for weeks with vise-grips clamped on the rod.........

I still drive mine like that but I don't think the broken rod would cause it to spin 360.

So i tore into my ignition problem today. We are having a heat wave here in nd and finally warm enough. While waiting for the cold to pass i went and bought a new actuator connecting rod. Found a very good you tube vid on the replacement for it and got a steering wheel puller. I started the tear down and was taking some nice pics to post. The way the vid showed was to pull the key after you have the housing off. When i pulled the key i found out that the peice that slides into the brass gear was broke. So after swearing for about 5 min i started putting it all back together. Hopefully it will all be lined up properly. Ill post the teardown pics soon
