I have an 85 f150 and ever since I bought the thing, the brake lights as well as the brakes have been pretty bad. The brakes don't actually engage really until I press the pedal down halfway. I've bled the thing a dozen times and still nothing better. The brake lights don't come on unless I actually push the brake all the way to the floor but when in park they are on. I've replaced the brake light sensor switch and it still is bogus.

Possible solutions?:
Adjust brakes so that the pads are closer to the drum/disk?
Buy another sensor?
New brake booster?


I'm sort of at a loss at what to do. Help is appreciated.
