Hell no. I've got an 85 f150 that when it's done will pull a house down and then haul it away. I'm pretty much doing what you've got so far just a few thing will be different. Front end will most likely be a leaf spring solid axle, zf 5 speed trans, 205 tcase, LSD front and rear, 250 drive shafts, 4.11 gears, and idk of I'll do 250 or 350 rear leaf springs with air bags. Then im gonna beef up my receiver hitch. So it never falls out! Hahaha.

Don't do airbags on the rear. Remember what you said on the compressor? Rock auto sells a bump stop setup that doesn't attach the axle but under heavy load will sit on your axle and is basically a coil spring. The good set is pricy like 300 but adds an insane amount of capacity. And they are in a molded rubber housing so it won't rust and you'll never worry about a busted bag or a bad compressor line. Not saying bags are bad but I'm looking for durability with little maintenance if any... I don't want to have a car on a trailer and have to drop the trailer cause of an equipment malfunction

Mine won't be ran off a compressor. It will have a line ran to each bag and at the end of the line will be a schrader valve, like you have for your tires and they will be aired up that way. A guy I worked with done that on his duramax. Worked out great cuz he didn't want to dick with a compressor.

I like how that's set up but I don't want to add air or anything those springs are probably going to be my pick just cause trailer weight or bed weight makes the frame sag until they catch. And I'm going with a set of coil over shocks that I can get fairly cheap through work. My goal is to pull car trailer with about 2k pounds worth of scrap in the bed. I think that's a pretty fair goal for having put the truck together for less then 2 grand

Ya that sounds pretty good. Unfortunately for me I'm going for more. I'll probably have 2k in just the motor by the time I'm all done with it. I'm stickin with the 300 but I'm gonna try to squeeze as much power and torque out of it as I can. But sounds like you'll have a damn fine truck that will haul its fair share and then some.

Thankyou it means alot. Most guys I talk to in my area that do this stuff look at me and say " I have under guchies older then you" and don't have much input otherwise. I'm looking to put alot more in when I do the D44/ 9 inch and do a 351 or 400bb swap and keep the 4 speed. At least 1800 just into shafts and lockers for the axles but that'll be after im going to move to the new home where there's a hobby shop close by that charges me 5 bucks an hour to use their rack and do my own stuff.

Awesome man. Good luck on your building. I'd go for the 351. Just my favorite ford v8. The windsors are freakin tanks. You can't beat them. Except with a strait six like me. Hahaha
