Default about to get my first f150

i am about to get my first f150 1979 4x4 351m c6 auto but i was wondering before i get it tomorrow is it a good truck any problems you know of and dose anyone know any links to service manuals for free i just got back from iraq and this is going to be my play toy but i will keep yall informed with new pics

oh yea is it hard to put on a rear drive shaft the guy got it extended and need to be put it on is it a diy thing or take to shop

If the drive shaft fits and you have have all the hardware it shouldn't be too hard. It's basically just wrench work.

If you love your truck, there are no problems, only solutions. A '79 should offer you plenty of solutions.

Thing about these older trucks is that you can actually work on them if you have some mechanical ability, unlike the new trucks, if you have a problem with one of those you take it to the shop and pay out the A$$.

see i can tear apart a jeep or hummer or a bradley tank for gd sakes but a ford never touched before lol but i will take a look see what i can do

this is true and what attracts me to these older pickups.

you will love that '79 if its in decent shape, and like has been said, only opportunities, no problems. you've got a good, strong motor/tranny combo there.
