What:

Rear tire size?
Date of last service and or tune-up?

You should be getting better gas mileage than that. I get 17 around town in a 1978 three on the tree with 3.08 rear end.

Default I get 11 mpg all the time

My '84F 150 from CA with the 302, three speed auto and 4X4 weighs 6100 lb with the shell and good insulation. Stock sized tires and 3:55 gears.

It gets between 10-11 mpg all the time...there is nothing you can do and keep it CA smog legal but take off weight. I have spend hours trying to get
more but without changing to a AOD trans and making it lighter - I just deal with the fact that buying gas is cheaper than buying a new truck. I have a
Super Cab and eight (8) foot bed.

Learn the new words "Cost Per Mile"... it costs about $.36 per mile in gas to move my truck. It is paid for, does not break down much and insurance is cheap. I could buy a new F150, get maybe 18 mpg with one with a shell and 4X4 but I would have to pay $60,000+ dollars... I can buy a lot of gas for that
money.

I just installed a 38 gallon rear tank and have 18 gallons on the side - I just buy the gas and laugh at the new trucks.

Not trying to be mean, but that does not help. What gears are in the rear? 3.08, 3.23?

Plus what is the P metric size of the tire? 215/70R15? I ask, because you can get better mileage by going to a bigger tire. Less revs per mile will increase gas mileage on the highway.
