Default 86 F150 stiff gas pedal

I recently converted my 86 F-150 from EFI to carburetor. Since doing that my gas pedal has become very stiff and hard to drive. It's perfect without the kick down cable attached. There are no kinks or loops in the kick down cable. It's mounted properly. I believe the spring that pulls it back is too strong but I also believe the spring is inside the transmission. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated.

The kick down cable shouldn't come into play at all until wide open throttle. Maybe it's adjusted too tight ? Just a thought.

From the OP's other thread..... It's not a kickdown cable. It is a TV cable for the AOD transmission.

Aaaahh. Instructions. That's what those are for. I never read them.

The instructions were not exactly available before the purchase of the carb...

Problem solved finally. Notice the twisted nail. Raising the throttle cable that little bit gave it just enough more leverage so that the gas pedal functions normally...

That'll work I guess. I especially like that the finish on the nail matches the finish on the linkage.

The matching finish is the Key
