86 F150 idle pos. motor
my f150 has a idle position motor that is not operating. It will not come down from high idle (1000) rpm when started. I installed replacement actuator, but the new unit remains retracted and does not extend to increase idle when started. I have not yet replaced the tps switch yet - still waiting for delivery. the old tps seems to check out o.k. with my ohm meter. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Idle pos. motor prob
Yes, I have the 6 cyl. with single barrel carb. Got lucky and found source of faulty actuator motor ant tps issues. while cleaning up engine bay and checking all other wiring connections, I found the main ground wire from the battery to the computer had seperated from connector right at the battery. I redid the connection and everything now working normally
