Default 85 pickup 302 flareside

Hey guys new to the site but I need help with my truck. I have an 85 f150 flareside sport I bought it about two months ago and it ran fine for about two weeks then one day was running fine goin about 45 and it died off so I changed fuel filter ran fine for about a day then it done the same thing so I figured I was out of gas got some delivered started up ran for about three miles died off and would start rebuilt the carb didn't work so I replaced the carb completely put new plugs wires and cap I can get it to idle smoothly but when I go in drive and accelerate it wants to die out any ideas ?

I have the same issue with my 78 [bad gas tank,dirt/water]

on your truck install a clear plastic filter ahead of the fuel pump to catch the junk in the gas.
this way you can see what is happening with the gas as a test.

Just a side note; 'flareside' is a 92 to 96 name.
Yours being older would be a 'stepside' - or 'fenderside', take your pick.
Much cooler truck. And much more rare.

Ford Motor Company has used the term "Flareside" since 1948 (first year of the F-Series), to present, including the Mercury M-Series (Canadian).
EDIT: Third generation F series started with the Flareside/Styleside names. 56 and prior were all fendered boxes and no special name was required.
General Motors (GMC/Chevrolet) used the terms "Fenderside/Stepside" respectfully, since the 1930's.
Dodge is the Utiline

run it a wile and see if anything comes threw , it also will check the strength of the fuel pump weather or not it will keep up with demand.

that vacume leak is a issue that will cause your problems too.

is the ''test filter'' still installed ?

if so check it for obstructions

also try capping the break assist line at the vacuum manifold and see if that improves the performance.

check the distributor to see if it is advancing [pull the vacuum line to it wile running][engine should slow down]

basically its trial and error as you go threw and eliminate possibilities
