Just thought I would keep this updated. New problem occurred with the truck that should be fun fixing. Believe it to be the U-Joint right by the driver side tire. Making a clicking sort of sound at low speeds like 25mph and under. Not always just sometimes. Any ideas? Should I change some other parts out while I do this? Believe to be all factory.
Think it's finally time to get a book for it that's more in detail than the big old Chiltons.

Go on Amazon and see if they have the factory shop manuals on CD. They did for the 70s models. It was like 35 bucks and it's all the manuals they used

Just remembered this about this thread. I got a big and little Chiltons books.
It wasn't the U-Joint making the sound. It was bearing inside the hub (not the wheel bearings). I replaced the bearing inside the hubs on both sides along with wheel bearings and while I was at it I got new front pads and calipers. Going to be doing a carb adjustment, studs and lug nuts for the passenger side (thank you tire shop for hiding the problem under the hubcap instead of telling me) and trying to figure out a heating problem with the hubs. Was brake drag until I greased everything and put new parts in. Now I have no clue.

After all that I plan to add more new parts. Any ideas?
So far all I've done for part replacement is -- Fuel filter off the carb, air cleaner, plugs and wires, cap and rotor, oil changes, brake booster and master cylinder, rear shocks and what I've said above.

Besides for carb, battery, starter and what looks like a head gasket it all looks factory and hasn't been touched ever. So what should I replace next?
