Did the fuel filter today. Staying parked until I get a brake booster. Already have a new master cylinder for it. (Leaking brake fluid and making a vacuum sound pinpointed to the booster.)

I was wondering where all the filters on the truck are. I know fuel, air and oil but not much else. Like I said I'm sort of new to this and have no clue on the history other than it was a farm truck.

Transmission fluid filter is inside the trans pan.

Not simple to replace but anyone can learn how.

I thought I seen a little filter on the air duct? The truck shifts good so not messing with that yet. (I did check the fluids.) Just the engine runs a little rough.

Got the booster and master cylinder done (did myself). Nothing mechanical is wrong at the moment so I want to help with the cosmetic.

Anyone have an idea how to remove the shifter ****? I have another shift **** that I want to put on.

Should just unscrew, lefty loosey. May have a jam nut that needs to be moved off first.

It won't unscrew. The top middle pops off but I have never seen one of those before.

Another thing is. I haul things often that have some weight (cord or wood). Thinking about putting a half a leaf spring assist in the rear with coil over shocks. Should add 1,000lb payload. Think I should do that or just put some F250 springs in there? Also thinking about swapping the front coil springs to F250 springs because I want to put a aftermarket bumper and winch on (won't be doing the front anytime soon). Any input on that is appreciated.

It looks like the shift **** is splined on not screwed. People have said to heat it up to about 180F to pull it off easier. Thing is the new **** I want to put on is threaded not splined. Is there an adapter?

I put these in mine. I think it is around 3700 LBS total between both. It takes a lot of weight to squat the rear down after installing these.

The fit was great and the shipping wasnt bad.

Working on another project at the moment. I will keep this one updated with what I'm doing and asking for help doing things.

Next 3 things I'll be doing to the truck are replacing the front shocks, adding a bug deflector and a pretty cool behind the seat storage compartment (hopefully). Should be doing it all on the 2nd.

Tempest thank you for the information on those springs but what are the factory springs in a F-250 rated? I still want it to squat so I know when it's getting close to breaking something else. 3700lbs is a lot of weight for a F-150 right?
