Default 78 Dana 44 Questions

I just bought a 78 D44 HP axle and its got 2 different mounts welded to it and I don't know what they are. Its got one arm that's been welded to the top of the passenger side steering knuckle (which I would assume is for some kind of high steer setup) and another steel plate welded to the top passenger side of the axle tube with 2 holes in it. Which I think was used with a steering stabilizer or something. I was just wondering if someone has seen a setup like this before and could tell me what ive got going on. It also has F250 8 lug outers on it. So someone has already done that conversion with it. Im a little new to these axles I plan to rebuild this one but I want to keep the 8 lug setup. What parts do I need to keep F250, and what parts do I need to keep F150 in order to keep the 8 lug?
