Default 469 motor electric fuel pump(s) on after truck turned off?

Last night I went out to get something from my 86 and it was dead quiet out. I noticed a noise and it seemed to be coming from the gas tanks. I switched to the rear tank which had no gas in it and the noise got louder. Switched back to the front and not as loud but still there. Any ideas?

Check that the fuel pump relay is not stuck on. Pull the relay out of the connector and see if the pumps stop.

On the driver side firewall between the brake booster and the side fender.
