460 into an f150
I bought a 78 f250 4x4 with a 4spd np205 and a 460 in it. Motor is great truck shifts smooth the entire running gear is pretty great. Later because the 78 is a rust pig I started looking for a body. Ran across a 79 f150 that the guy gave me for scrap price. Has a few holes in it from cancer and the motor blows and the clutch won't release. My plan is to take the 460 trans and transfer case out of the 250 and drop it in the 150. My question is what things do I need for this swap. I have a complete donor truck and plan to buy an aluminum radiator. Also I want the 150 for ride quality and I think it's cooler to have a 150 with a big block than a 250. I used the search and didn't find what I needed. Maybe I missed something.

Probably swap over the tranny crossmember , drive shaft, and new motor mounts, these may need relocated. I dont know the 70s but in the 80-96 they are all basically interchangeable. Im sure that granny dont let that 460 run properly. You could swap in a later model 87-96/97-350s 5 speed that was behind a big block . Would require swapping to a hydraulic clutch but those are everywhere in salvage yards.

I'm trying to spend as little as possible. The end goal is a cummins swap but I want this thing running now and I already have the 460 donor truck.
