goofy electrical problem
I got a '70 ranger XLT pickup with a 390 CID that has a screwy electrical issue that I cannot figure out. Left rear brake light works but not the right. I put all new bulbs all the way around. Also, when right blinker is on both reverse lights also glow dark orange in the filament of the bulbs. hardly noticeable but it's there if you take the lenses off for observation.

I have measured voltage at the bulb terminals in the light fixture and I see 12V at the brake light terminal which makes it even more unusual. my meter goes from OL to 0 when reading the blinker terminal. Not sure if my meter is too slow to read the voltage or if another issue.

Sounds like a ground issue to me. Any time you have a bulb, like you back-up lights that comes on dim when it shouldn't something is not grounded and is trying to find a ground. Do the reverse lights come on as they should when you back up? My money would be that you have a bad socket on the right side. My just be real corroded. Try spraying some fast drying electrical contact cleaner in it. Those old type bulb sockets were real bad to get wet.
