1978 F150 supercab 4x4
A friend of mine just bought a 78 f150 4x4 with a 400 & a c6 trans. after we got the ignition problem figured out, we took it for a test drive, it shifted from 1st to 2nd and then it stuck in second, even if you moved it to park, and back into drive.... any suggestions????

make sure the transmission indicator is working correctly - some of the old Ford transmissions would start out in 2nd gear if the selector was put there.
Other than that, may be looking at the modulator.
