Default 1976 4x4 390 oil pan

Needing to find a replacement oil pan for my 4x4. Its a 390 f150 and the oil pan is a rear sump type for the 4x4 and I can't seem to find one anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions on where to order one?

I found lots of oil pans searching google for "Ford FE 390 oil pan". Summit racing, Ebay, and others. Pretty common part for rebuilders. I'm not sure why they're calling it a big block. We considered them small blocks back in the day. I guess wikipedia has them reclassified as Medium block engines now. Still, an FE 390 is an FE 390.

Are you suggesting the 2wd oil pans are different than the 4wd?
Here's a search on ebay showing pictures of what they claim is a 4x4 oil pan for 390:

Yes, the oil pans for the ford FE engines are different for the 4wd. The 2wd ones are a front sump. the 4wd oil pans are a rear sump. Most of the pans I can find are for the 2wd only. I have only been able to find the one on ebay and it looks kinda beat up.

So you're wanting one that looks new and pretty? There's businesses now that will chrome-plate any part you bring them if you want it perfectly shiny. Sure, you might have to wire brush the paint off and pound out any dents. If you don't want it chromed, you can repaint yourself too.

Salvage yard is also an option if you don't like the $200 price tag.
