Well, it chose me. I knew many 7.3's suffered from cavatation as they are basically an over bored 6.9 and thus have very thin cylinder walls. I had two engines to start with and when sonic checking the cylinder walls the 7.3 was too thin to gamble on so I built the 6.9.

Very nice trucks I have a 78 that I'm waiting to build on my brother has a 78 that needs tyranny and motor work and my dad has 59 which is real nice my dads is on 33s and has a 352 y block motor with 4 speed manual my truck has 400 and 4 speed and my brothers is on 35s with a 400 and a c6 auto

I have a 1977 Ford F150 Ranger XLT. Bought it last spring. It was sad, lonely, and neglected. It ran and was in pretty good shape, but needed a little love. I have replaced the ignition coil, distributor, and plug wires. So no it fires up every time I turn the key. I have put a new rear tank and sending unit. The rear brake cylinders and shoes were just replaced today. The engine is a 400. Here are some pics.
