Going to use it, Would like to find a 351 upper and lower and use a 302 HO harness and change it over to roller cam.

Looks like you have a nice truck. That floor board isn't anything to worry about. Are you planning on lowering it a lot? Power steering and a mustang suspension are nice but you could save a ton of money just putting factory brakes and rebuild the front end and steering. I did disk brake conversion on my truck for $60. I'm not trying to talk you out of what your doing, just know there are some options out there if your interested. You can't go wrong as long as you end up with what you want!!!

Thanks doug! Yea I am going to use a 03-11 crown vic front suspension for this truck and not lower it too much but give it that modern day stance This will give me disc brakes and full rack and pinion power steering along with tubular control arms.

The rearend is were I am concerned about. since I will be doing the crown vic suspension, it will give me small 5 lug up front and big 5 lug in the back so I will need to find a 8.8 rear that is the same size as the 9in with small 5 lug pattern. I have thought about ranger but will need to measure the length.

Cool!! Sounds like you have a good plan for this truck. I can't wait to see some pics of it as you go.
Would a 9" out of an older mustang Tbird or Lincoln have the right pattern? Might be too narrow..... I know some Lincoln MARK IV came with factory 9" rear disk brakes in the late 70s early 80s....

Any way good luck with truck.

You can always go with a irs kit. I have been looking into it myself.

I have been looking around and from what I have seen a early 90's model crown vic has an 8.8 rear with small lug pattern that is the closest fit for the truck width. I may look into that as well.

IRS is something I have thought of as well but right now my budget is tough as it is with the new front suspension LOL This maybe something I can easily add later on once the front half is built.

Small update

Saturday was dedicated for me to work on my truck at the last minute until she brings up that her brakes are hissing. I checked it out and it was coming from the brake booster inside her escape so I had to change the brake booster Saturday morning. Once I got it done I finished the rest of the day working on my truck. I got most of the bad spots cut out of the passenger side of the truck. I ran out of cutting discs and need to grab some along with sawzall blades from home depot. It cleaned up quite well with a wire brush attachment for the grinder. Hope to have the floors done soon. Also got the gas tank out for relocation.
