when to replace coils

Default when to replace coils

Hey guys I'm fixin to replace my plugs for the first time on my 2007 5.4 with 80,000mi should I also replace my coils while I'm at it? Thanks in advance

I wouldn't unless the truck threw a code for it.

I wouldn't change the plugs much less the coils, those plugs in your engine are good for at least 100,000 miles. Just changed the ones in my wifes truck and only because one of the coils went out and she has 140,000 on the odom.

I would change the plugs at 80,000 miles, less of a chance of them breaking. Waiting until 100k+ will increase probability of breaking.

My daily driver has 119,000 miles on the odo, original plugs! But my had a couple plugs go bad at around 110-112 somewhere around in there.

I dont know if "if it aint broke dont fix it" applies here
I bought a used truck and dont (yet) have a owners manual, but I will definitly change my plugs around 90,000- 100,000. The newer engines and plugs are good but not THAT good. Not going to wait for one to go bad
Just need to know what the milage requirement is for the coils
